This post is dedicated to Rhonda, The Margarita Mum, today on National Margarita Day. I recreated Rhonda’s gorgeous Strawberry and Kiwi Berry Margarita. When Rhonda posted this recipe about a year ago, she said it was all sweet & tart at the same time and it totally is! I’m not used to more sour drinks so I found the amount of lime very interesting which is encouraging me to push the tart flavor in future recipes.
This is my most favorite recipe I’ve created thus far. The drink is balanced and I daresay tastes ‘sophisticated’ with interesting complementary flavors dripping with winter citrusy blood orange flavor, hints of mint and cherry so delectable that you don’t want to stop sipping. This drink really is my jam and I think it could be yours, too!
My first infusion and I wanted to make an orange-infused vodka. I read about all kinds of ways to infuse citrus: which part of the fruit to use, length of time to infuse, where to store it, should you shake it, which kind of liquor pairs well with which citrus. I ended up using Tito’s Vodka’s easy-to-follow infusion recipe for a first-time infuser like myself. Here’s my process and here’s what I learned.
